About

Caroline’s bio

I am blessed beyond measure at how God has worked in my life. I grew up in a small town before attending the University of Kansas and meeting my soul mate. I got married a few years later and finished my degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. After starting our family, I worked mostly part-time jobs during my children’s growing up years before getting a job in the marketing department of an engineering firm in 2006. I held this job for 15 years in total, working part-time in recent years.

Since 2020, life has had many changes. My husband and I moved to Harrisonville, Missouri after living in nearby Lee’s Summit for more than 26 years. We enjoy the small-town feeling of family, fellowship, and fun. My husband lost and then found a job, we moved to a new house unexpectedly, and we added more grandbabies to the mix. In 2024, I quit my part-time job to focus on my ministry work and continue my education. Life is amazing, even with ups and downs, because we know the Lord loves us, and we love him, too!

Who am I?

I love the Lord! My Jesus, my Savior, my friend. That’s the first and most important thing I can say about myself.

I love my family! I have been married to my hubby for more than 40 years. We are parents to four grown children, who persevered through the ups and downs of my recovery journey with us. Over the years, we’ve gained two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren (four girls, one boy). My mom, sisters, and extended family members are all precious to me and I feel truly blessed by how God has brought us together.

I am a writer, speaker, and teacher. I love God’s Word and have written and taught Bible studies for 30 years to children, youth, and adults. To be better equipped for these roles, I earned my MS in Bible and Theology from Calvary University and am now pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Ministry and Formation at B.H. Carroll Theological Seminary. .Check out my Writing and Speaking pages for more information.

I was a church musician. I have a bachelor’s in music education degree anf used my training to establish a home-based business teaching early childhood music for daycare homes and daycare centers. As a church musician, I have directed children’s choirs, adult choirs, handbells, and orchestras. I have also arranged and composed music for worship. After God brought me through my time of crisis, He surprised me with a change of directions. He equipped me and called me to encourage others with my mental health ministry.

My Purpose

Personal mission: To offer encouragement for life in a complicated world

More than 10 years after I began my recovery journey, I found out about an amazing program through the Missouri Department of Mental Health where I could use my “lived experience” to encourage others. I became a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) in the mental health field in 2016. After working at a behavioral health organization for a year, I co-founded and directed a non-profit with a good friend of mine emphasizing mental health education and awareness from a Christian perspective. Although the non-profit was dissolved only a few years later (2021) due to COVID,  I have been excited to see how God continues to lead me in ministry. I lead a Christ-centered mental health support group and have for more than 15 years. It is an honor to serve our Lord in this way.

Welcome! Please let me know how I can encourage you.
